| A
ring-loaded corrugated horn |
| A ringloaded corrugated horn
(shown on the right) has good crosspolar
performance between 8 and 18 GHz |

|
| A
quad-ridged horn |
| The quad-ridged horn shown on
the right in a cutaway view has been manufactured
and has good performance over a 3:1 bandwidth. |

|
| A lens-horn
combination |
| A lens-horn combination for dual
band usage (peak gains of 34.0 dBi at 41.5 and
30.0 dBi at 28.5 GHz) has been designed and
prototyped by MAAS. The final design was carried
into production by Thomas Keating Limited. The
photo on the left shows the prototype assembly
with two lenses below it. The photo on the right
is taken looking into the dielectric support cone
towards the feed horn with the lens removed. |

| ASCAT/ASAR Potter Horns |
| Potter Horns have been designed and built to provide ground calibration points for space-borne SAR systems at 5.2 to 5.3 GHz. The photograph on the left shows the ASCAT horn complete with alignment telescope and mounting bracket. The sidelobe template was stringent for angles far from boresight. The plot on right shows the template and predicted and measured patterns. A level of better than -60 dB was achieved over the rear hemisphere with a peak gain of 22.45 dBi. |

| Horns for Noise Calibration |
| Four horns covering the complete waveguide band for each of WR06, WR10, WR28 and WR42 have been designed and built for a beam efficiency requirement of better than 98%. See photograph. All four horns are shaped corrugated horns and the crosspolarisation is low over each waveguide at <-30 dB. Measurement of these horns was carried out at NPL Teddington UK and the agreement between measurement and prediction is excellent - see plot |
