Microwave and Antenna Systems
MAAS works on all aspects of antennas and passive microwave
components.
We provide a variety of services at frequencies from 50 MHz.
to mmwave (up to 1500 GHz).
- MAAS designs antennas and associated components,
including transitions.
We can provide trade-off system studies or design
studies at an early stage in your project or we
can design, build and test prototypes and small
runs of antennas.
|
|
|
- MAAS has developed a novel method of reducing the dimensions
of a ridged horn by a factor of two.
|
- MAAS can design multi-channel quasi-optics
systems. Recent examples designed include a
4-channel system (23.8 to 89 GHz) and a 7-channel
system (18.7 to 229 GHz). A Quasi-Optics Test
bench operating at 54 and 89 GHz has been
constructed and tested, see this presentation
by P. R. Foster.
|
- MAAS can manufacture and test large production
runs of antennas. Qualified sub-contractors are
used to implement MAAS designs and test plans.
|
- Work on space systems
has formed a major part of MAAS's work over the
last fifteen years. This has ranged from the
design of individual components such as diplexers
to complete multiple
reflector antennas with Quasi-Optics Network
feeds.

|
|
|
- MAAS undertakes system design, particularly where
installation on a
structure is involved.

Customers include BAE Systems, Matra Marconi Space, ESTEC, UK
Government Departments, THALES, Shorts and firms in Europe and
North America.
MAAS has been certified to ISO 9001 since 1994 and to ISO
9001:2000 since 2002.
