Andrew Zaporozhets

Andrew Zaporozhets is a well-known expert in the field of reflector shaping for specified parameters such as low sidelobes, maximum efficiency and shaped coverage. He is responsible for the software packages covering these topics (MakeRF and MakeR) which are sold by ASL.

Andrew Zaporozhets was educated in Moscow and obtained his PhD from Moscow State University in 1991. His research topic was the optimisation of microwave power transmission characteristics. This work was concerned with obtaining maximum efficiency from antennas togther with low sidelobe levels. This antenna work was subsequently developed at various establishhments including the University of Southampton, UK. He has made unique contributions to the mathematics of optimising shaped reflectors. More recently (1996-2000), he has worked on parabolic equations at the Rutherford Appleton Laboratory, Didcot, UK. He has published several papers on this topic.
